The Maison du Maître de Digues is an emblematic place in the Marais Poitevin: it's there, in the 17th century that the managment of water was done.
Indeed, the Marais Poitevin is not only the Venise Verte ! Visit our exposition on the dyke and you'll be able to understand that there are actually many different landscapes in the Marais Poitevin. Take the time to watch the dyke evolve through the seasons, listen to the sounds of the marsh, become a "recalou" for a bit. You'll discover the difference between the wet marsh and the dry marsh.
Then, go back in time: enter an old house transformed into a ecomuseum. Discover the living space, the job and the everyday life of the Dyke master, an essential person for the water managment and the maintenance of the marsh.
New in 2018: children can go looking for Margaux, the water fairy (children's book for 7-12 year olds)
