Shuttles: the economical and environmentally friendly solution

The Funbus (July-August)

The Funbus is a public transport service offered by the town of La Tranche sur Mer during the summer school holidays. Accessible to all free of charge, several routes allow you to reach different areas of the town and your favourite activities. With the Funbus, you can leave your car behind and get around with complete peace of mind.

All Funbus routes are accessible to people with reduced mobility (except routes B2 and D).

The municipal shuttle bus

From 1 September 2024 to 4 July 2025

During the off-season, from September to June, the town of La Tranche sur Mer runs its ‘municipal shuttle bus’. This provides free transport three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

The PRM shuttle bus

A PRM shuttle bus is also available in the town for people aged 75 and over and people with disabilities. This service requires an appointment to be made at least 48 hours in advance.
Going further afield

If you want to take a trip outside La Tranche sur Mer, you can use the Aleop regional transport network buses. Two lines serve La Tranche sur Mer:
  • Line 550 (towards Les Sables d'Olonne or Luçon)
  • Line 555 (towards La Roche sur Yon)

Bus service frequency varies depending on the time of year. See below for current timetables.

By bike

La Tranche sur Mer has a gentle terrain and 50 km of cycle paths, making cycling the ideal way to get around during your stay in our region. Don't hesitate! Bring your bikes with you or consider renting them from one of our bike hire companies.

By car

During the summer months, access and parking in the centre of La Tranche sur Mer can be difficult due to high visitor numbers. We recommend parking on the outskirts of the town centre, such as the Grande Plage car park, the Maupas car park or the Avenue du Général de Gaulle car park (a 10-minute walk from the town centre).

Paid parking

The town has 980 paid parking spaces in high season, which encourages vehicle rotation and makes it easier to access local shops.

Paid parking from 17 April to 31 August 2025 from 11:00 to 20:00 (from 1 July to 31 August 2025 for the La Terrière beach car park)
  • Enclosed car parks: £0.35 per quarter of an hour
  • Parking meters: first 4 hours – €0.35 per quarter of an hour / 5th and 6th hour – €0.45 per quarter of an hour / 7th and 8th hour – €1.30 per quarter of an hour / 9th hour – €1.80 per quarter of an hour (price list displayed on parking meters).

Blue zone parking

To enable residents to access local shops, some parking spaces near the town centre are located in blue zones. Parking is limited in duration from 1 June to 15 September. European blue discs are available for purchase (€1) at the Tourist Office.

Disabled parking spaces

Find the location of all disabled parking spaces in La Tranche sur Mer in our 2024 Accessibility Guide. With the Mobility Inclusion Card, you can park in all disabled parking spaces, in blue zone parking spaces with no time limit, and in all pay-and-display car parks free of charge.
