Journées Européennes du Patrimoine à La Folie de Finfarine

This Sunday, 20 September, discover the unspoilt natural surroundings of La Folie de Finfarine Park and come and explore it in the company of passionate guides – some of whom are beekeepers themselves – through a unique experience centred on honey and bees!

On the programme for the day:

--> In the morning from 10.00 to 13.00, by booking only, cost €40 (3-hour workshop): step into the shoes of a beekeeper
What if, for just one morning, you became a beekeeper? La Folie de Finfarine offers an introduction to beekeeping for the general public, led by our beekeeper guide Clément!
A unique opportunity to understand the life of a colony, learn the essential skills of a beekeeper and, for the most enthusiastic participants, perhaps even set up your own hive at home one day.
An exceptional up-close encounter with the colony, where everyone can observe how the hive is organised and discover the beekeeper’s work. An experience that is as informative as it is impressive… thrills guaranteed!

--> In the afternoon, from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm: self-guided tour of the park
The afternoon continues in a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere with several activities
open to visitors!

--> In the afternoon, from 2.30 pm to 4 pm: creative workshops (running continuously)!

Workshop on making candles and bee wraps using beeswax: young and old alike can give free rein to their creativity with beeswax: making a beeswax candle; making a bee wrap, a reusable and eco-friendly food wrap made from beeswax.
--> Everyone can take their creations home with them as a little souvenir of this day dedicated to bees. No booking required. €2

At 4.00 pm: ‘Honey and Bees’ guided tour – follow our beekeeper guide as they reveal the secrets of how a hive is organised and how honey is harvested from the Finfarine hives to round off the afternoon!

This event is the perfect opportunity for a fun and educational family day out, whilst discovering the vital role bees play in biodiversity!
