Train(s) de vie – Philippe Gougler

What if a simple station platform could open up a whole new life?

In *Train de vie*, Philippe Gougler – journalist, avid traveller and the iconic face of the television programme *Des trains pas comme les autres* (France Télévisions) – takes to the stage for the first time to recount his own journey.

From his solitary childhood in Franche-Comté, where he dreamt of faraway places whilst watching the trains go by, to his tentative first steps behind a radio microphone, right through to the far corners of the world he has travelled to by rail, he takes us on a journey that is as intimate as it is universal.

Alone on stage, he brings to life a gallery of colourful characters, comical situations and moments frozen in time, where humour rubs shoulders with emotion. For beyond the landscapes he has traversed, it is above all the people he has met who shape one’s destiny.

*Train de vie* is an invitation to travel… but above all, to discover oneself. A sensitive and generous performance, carried by authentic storytelling, which subtly explores our relationship with the world, with others, and with our own unconventional paths.

Somewhere between an autobiographical tale and an inner epic, Philippe Gougler presents a deeply human debut one-man show, accessible to all audiences and firmly rooted in our times.
